Fenbendazole

Fenacure - tablets, called in other words Fenacure 3000, contain 3g of Fenbendazole, which belongs to benzimidazole group of anthelmintics. It has a broad-spectrum antiparasitic coverage against a wide range of gastrointestinal helminthes including abomasal and intestinal nematodes (adult and 4th – Stage Larvae), lungworms (adult and larvae), tapeworms (heads and segments) in cattle and large strongyles, small srtongyles, pinworms and ascarids in horses. Fenebendazole is also effective against hypobiotic larvae.

What is the composition of this medicine?

Each Bolus Contains:

  • Fenbendazole I.P.-3000 mg
  • Excipients - q.s

What are the indications for using this medicine?

Cattle and Buffaloes: FENACURE 3000 is indicated for the removal and control of adult and immature forms of gastrointestinal roundworm, hookworms, lungworms and tapeworms.
Horses: Infestation of large and small strongyles.

Dosage information

10mg of Fenbendazole per kg body weight (one bolus of FENACURE 3000 per 300kg) orally.

What should I watch for while using this medicine?

Fenbendazole does not have any teratogenic or embryotoxic properties, however, its administration is not recommended during the first month of pregnancy.

What side effects may I notice from this medicine?

At recommended dosage, fenbendazole is safe and generally doesn’t cause any side effects. Hypersensitivity reactions secondary secondary to antigen release by dying parasites may occur, particularly at higher dosages.
